Improved VoW performance with DSCP-to-priority mapping in NSS
Optimization is implemented in NSS for VoW performance improvements. This section describes the software design for skipping the acceleration of high priority packets in NSS based on the DSCP value in the IP header.
Because the acceleration of the flows causes packet re-ordering for a few packets of the flow, this causes packet drops in some test cases running video or voice traffic. There is no way to get rid of this packet re-ordering and the only solution for this issue is skipping the acceleration for these flows.
This enhancement introduced changes in NSS driver, NSS firmware and ECM. A mapping table is created in the procsys by the user and it is passed to the NSS firmware through the messaging interfaces
